Mirwaners! I bet there are lots of people know an island called Belitung, the super beautiful island which is located in Bangka Belitung province. Once there were just few people aware the existence of this amazing island. Surprisingly, after releasing Laskar Pelangi film which was shot in Belitung, the beauty of this island became well known by people all over the world shortly. Now, the so-called ‘Negeri Laskar Pelangi’ becomes one of destinations which are frequently visited by many tourists from different countries.
Once, to visit Belitung by flight from Changi Airport Singapore, the passengers from Singapore could not fly directly to Belitung. They would be transitted to Jakarta first then flied to Belitung. But now, everything is getting easier. There is a flight can fly directly to Belitung from Singapore. It’s Garuda Airlines.
Guess what, I’m one of lucky guys who witnessed and experienced the first flight flied from Changi Airport (Singapore) to H.AS Hanadjoeddin International Airport (Belitung). It was on August 9th, 2018. We went there for I-Sing Indonesia and Belitung International Music Festival events which were held on Agust 11th, 2018.
Couple months before this first flight flied, Muhammad Iqmal, the owner of I-Sing Indonesia, along with his team run Belitung International Travel Fair event in Singapore. Surprisingly, there were many people came and bought the business class ticket for coming to Belitung for I-Sing Indonesia and Belitung International Music Festival events.
People who came to these events by that flight mostly were celebrities. They came from different countries such as Singapore, Australia, Sweden, even from Cambodia. These celebrities promoted Belitung to their fans after they enjoy the beauty of that island and the events.
Anyway, besides using plane, the passengers from Singapore can take an alternative way to Belitung directly. They can sail by using their own luxury ship (Ximula Sail). They actually have ever done sailing to Belitung on Belitung Anniversary, last March. They brought delegations from China and France.
So, that’s all the short story. Now you know when the first Garuda flight flied from Singapore to Belitung, right? For those who take a plan to trip to Belitung, I can accompany you on one condition ; we travel around Singapore first then we can go to Belitung. Don’t worry, as a travel blogger, I can guide you.
