Price and Specification of iPhone 12
Apple is rumored to be launching the iPhone 12 by the end of 2020. Some say the phone will launch between September or October 2020. Ahead of the launch, rumors and speculations regarding prices, specifications, and features on the new cellphone continued to emerge.
As Apple Insider said that Apple is likely to launch four variants of the iPhone 12 this year. The lowest variants will consist of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max which will feature 6.1-inch and 5.4-inch screens.
The highest variants are iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens. The two classes of iPhone 12 will differ in several ways, one of them is the screen. The Pro and Max will likely use Samsung's OLED display with Super Retina XDR, as well as ProMotion 120Hz support and 10-bit color depth.
In theory, this means the Pro model will be able to display a wider range of colors than the non-Pro version, including better HDR video. In fact, Apple observer Jon Prosser said the iPhone 12 Pro Max has settings to activate High Refresh Rate and Adaptive Refresh Rate.
In terms of processor, Apple is likely to use the latest chip on the iPhone 12. Following the A13 Bionic, Apple will most likely choose the name A14.
Noted from Mac Rumors, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is reported to have mass produced the A14 which is about 5 nanometers in size in the second quarter of 2020. TSMC claims A14 has experienced a 15 percent performance increase in total power usage and is more power efficient by up to 30 percent.
For the camera, iPhone 12 is predicted to be similar to the iPhone 11. The non-Pro variant has two cameras while the Pro model uses three cameras. However, in essence the entire camera will be 12 megapixels and be able to record 4K footage at 120fps and 240fps frame rates.
Apple will add LiDAR to the Pro model, borrowing the concept from the iPad Pro. LiDAR has the potential to improve the quality of photography. While the Face ID feature will almost certainly be installed in all variants of the iPhone 12.
Interestingly, one of the features that are universally believed to be coming this year is support for 5G mobile networks. Apple's signing of the deal with Qualcomm puts a 5G modem in the iPhone 12.
Analysts at JP Morgan say sub-6GHz 5G support will be in all models, but only the high-end versions have mmWave support. While other reports say Apple will ship a model with a mix of 4G and 5G compatibility.
Another feature predicted to be present in the iPhone 12, namely the Pro model will have 6GB of memory, and add 512GB options on top of the main capacities of 128GB and 256GB. The iPhone 12 will also have wireless charging capability.
For the price, the iPhone 12 with 128 GB of storage is estimated to cost US $ 649 or Rp.9.4 million (exchange rate Rp.14,576) and US $ 749 or Rp.10.9 million for 256GB. While the iPhone 12 Max will be priced starting from $ 749 or Rp.10.9 million to US $ 849 or Rp.12.3 million.
As for the Pro model with 128GB of storage, it is priced at US $ 999 or Rp.14.5 million; 258GB worth US $ 1,099 or Rp.16 million; and US $ 1,299 or Rp.18.9 million for 512GB.
For the highest variant, namely the iPhone 12 Pro Max, it is believed to be sold at a higher price of US $ 1,099 or Rp. 16 million for 128GB, US $ 1,199 or Rp. 17.4 million for 258GB, and US $ 1,399 or Rp.20.3 million for 512GB.
